I ordered two of these. They arrived in perfect condition with lots of greenery. Due to the unseasonably cold and wet, I wasn’t able to plant them for a few days but they were still doing well. Now that they are planted, within the week, they are growing and sending new shoots. Not blooming, so I can’t comment on that. The honeysuckle arrived healthy and perfectly packed. The leaves really are a gorgeous blue-green. I’ve never seen leaves this color on any other plant. Plants arrived quickly and very well-packed, with wet paper wrapped around the trunks to keep the pots moist. I planted them as directed, and netted them to discourage our local deer. I await the spring to see how well they grow and climb my trellis. I see a few yellow leaves here and there, but since the plants’ leaves, as a whole, remain a rich green, I’ll assume all is okay. I ordered two of the 1 gallon Major Wheeler honeysuckles. They arrived very quickly and I was amazed at how well they were packed. There was no way that the plants could have come loose in the box. There were damp towels packed all around the base of the plant on top of the soil, which were then taped in place so that they could not become dislodged. The plants were in beautiful condition. Both plants are so healthy and better than I expected I sometimes have problems with online ordering of plants they do not thrive well after planting but the switch grass and honeysuckle are thriving. So much healthier and larger. Also as an update I purchased 2 encore azaleas a year ago nervous about zone 6 winter and voila both survived and bloomed beautiful. Wow! Secure packaging. The vine is larger than anticipated, and very healthy. Planted in part sun, well-drained soil, hope that’s enough for the vine to flower. Zone 6a. Ths was a replacement plant for sedum that didn’t survive the shipping. This poor plant was in the mail for 7 days but that is not on WB, that was on FedEx & Covid. Here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area the front of our house faces west and it’s a considerable challenge to sustain plants in the beds against the house, even those claimed to be heat tolerant. The brick easily reaches into the high hundred-plus-teens late afternoon. Even with shade part of the day some can’t/haven’t make/made it.
However, these plants are thriving, having added several branches and around 5 inches of new growth in less than a month since they arrived (and were planted by the next day).
Make sure that you have your trellis or other climbing surface ready to go the same time you plant. If there was ever a “plant it, stand back and watch” plant, this is it. In May of 2019, I planted two of the Red Trumpet Honeysuckle to climb a trellis providing privacy on my front porch which faces East (6 hours of morning sun). They arrived perfectly healthy and the vines have flourished. Sadly, not a single blossom as of October 26, 2019. Maybe next year? Sorry not to give 5 stars. I was asked to review this just weeks after purchase – far too soon to know. I originally wanted the 3 gallon pot in this honeysuckle and when it was not available I was advised that the 2 gallon pot was very large. I ordered it to go on an antique fan style trellis for my yard for the hummingbirds to feed upon. I can’t believe how large and healthy this plant is. Packing was perfect. These 4 vines arrived in great condition….the packaging was Very Well done! The vines look healthy and one of them has a bloom on it. I have never received anything but the best plants from Wilson Bros…..thus, I continue to order. These plants arrived looking healthily, just like you would expect if you bought them at a local nursery. We planted these as soon as they arrived in January. We immediately got hit with some freezing weather and was sure we lost both plants. Its February and they both have sprouted little leaf buds. Looking forward to watching them grow.

I planted these when I bought them in early April 2015 and they continued to bloom almost to Christmas. I usually don’t do reviews but this is a very exceptional plant. It grew probably 8 feet in one season and it always had blooms on it. I saw no disease on the leaves when my other red honeysuckle got white mildew from the humid summer. Major Wheeler is now my favorite. I bought 5 more vines to cover a section of chainlink fence and Wilson Bros Gardens was kind enough to hold and will ship them for me this coming April. Great company to work with!

Very Nice Plant. Love the red Blooms. I planted this in Spring and it has already doubled in size
