Blue Sentry Yucca prefers an evenly moist to somewhat dry well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. it prefers an alkaline soil. Add agricultural limestone (pelletized lime) to acid soils to make more alkaline. No maintenance required except to remove spent flower stalks. Good drought tolerant when established though will appreciate an occasional watering during extended dry periods to perform its best.

Description
A very dramatic color addition to the landscape with a texture all its own, the Blue Sentry Yucca has sword-shape blue leaves that mature to a striking powder blue. Upon close observations you’ll see a thin yellow margin on the leaves. In summer, a very showy “tower” of creamy white flowers arranged along a stout, 4 to 6 foot tall stalk rises above the foliage. The plant is mounding when young but eventually forms more of an upright column with age. Though in the most ideal conditions in its native habitat (Mexico) it can grow upwards of 8 to 10 feet in height, it is more often seen in USDA Zones 5 through 9 topping out from 3 to 6 feet in height.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 3 to 6 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide (8 to 10 tall in a frost-free climate), the Blue Sentry Yucca is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings in sunny to mostly sunny landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Looks very nice around garden ponds or in rock gardens near boulders and also makes a nice solo or centerpiece in containers of 14 inches or more in diameter. A fine addition to blue theme gardens, rock gardens, and Xeriscape Gardens (low water needs when established). We like combining Yucca with other low water need plants such as junipers, barberry, abelia, ornamental grasses, and loropetalum.
Suggested Spacing: 8 feet or more apart for space between plants
